It has been rumoured for quite a while now that HP is going to announce a high-end Windows 10 Mobile device at next week's MWC 2016 event in Barcelona
And today we finally get a glimpse of it. It is called the HP Elite X3.
The leaked images show the unannounced Elite X3 in all its glory. It has got a front facing speaker and not just any speaker, it is one designed by the AudioPhile company Bang&Olufsen, these guys are one of the leading Audio companies (rivals with JBL Harman, BOSE and the rest), they also make the audio systems in Cars from BMW, Audi and others. So expect high qudio quality from the Elite X3.
The leaked images also show a docking connector on the back of the Elite X3. I'm curious to see what accessories/docks will be connected to this device. Most likely, we could see a dock that enables the continuum feature.
The specs for the Elite X3 also leaked and are pretty impressive, here they are:
- 5.96-inch QuadHD display
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Quad-Core SoC
- 4 GB RAM
- 32GB storage, microSD expansion up to 200 GB
- USB 3.0 Type-C (USB-C)
- Qi wireless charging
- Iris Scanner (Windows Hello)
- Fingerprint reader
- Continuum support
- 16-megapixel camera on the back
- 8-megapixel front camera
- Windows 10 Mobile
- IP67 dust and water resistance
- STD810 military MIL-rating (for 1-foot drop protection
- 7.6 mm thick
- Docking connector
It has 4GB memory. with both fingerpring and iris scanner (though this sounds unlikely that it will have both).
I hope to see more Microsoft OEM partners like Toshiba, Dell or Lenovo get on the Windows 10 Mobile train and release beastly Windows Phones too.
We will hear more about the HP Elite X3 next week. So stay tuned.
