The Microsoft Surface Book undoubtedly stole the show at the Microsoft #Windows10Devices event which just concluded yesterday in NYC.
It is the first laptop from the software giant and boy did it NOT disappoint.
The Surface Book doubles as a laptop and a tablet. it has got a really interesting design, construction with it's nvidia GPU nestled in the keyboard base (for the higher models), so pulling out the tablet leaves you with an under-powered graphics processor until you connect back to the base which then provides you with extra graphics boost!
The cheaper i5 model comes with an Intel HD graphics card.
The Surface Book features a 13.5inch screen with 3200x2000 res.
Has options for either an 8GB or 16GB ram with either 128GB, 256GB or 512GB storage.
It's also got a 5MP front-facing camera and a 8MP main camera with HD recording
Microsoft says the Surface Book is twice as fast as the MacBook Pro. Seeing as both are in the same class, it will be interesting to see how this affects MacBook Pro sales. I mean, no offence, but the Surface Book obliterates the MacBook Pro.
The Surface Book will be available from Oct. 30th and starting price is $1499 for the base model which is an i5 with 8GB RAM, no GPU, instead an Intel HD graphics card.
