So word is coming from trustworthy Chinese Windows blog site: WPDang that Microsoft will be holding an event in New York City (NYC) to unveil the next generation of Windows 10 devices.
Specifically, the much rumored Lumia 940 (codenamed: TalkMan), the Lumia 940XL (codenamed: CityMan), the Surface Pro 4(successor to the very successful Surface Pro 3) and Microsoft Band 2 (successor to the Band 1) will all get launched and WPDang is saying this event will happen in October.
Though no specific date in October was mentioned, previous rumors claim that this event will hold early in October.
I know you might be thinking, does that mean Windows 10 Mobile will be ready before October (less than 2 months away). Well, not exactly. Microsoft could show off the new Windows 10 flagship devices with incomplete OS (they have done it before).
But let's hope that is not the case, and Windows 10 Mobile will be ready by the end of September.
The spotlight will be on these couple of flagship devices: Lumia 940 & 940XL, after all, it has been more than a year since they released one, the Lumia 1520 and that was Nokia branded.
So these will be the first Microsoft flagship phones running Windows 10 Mobile.
If these rumors are true, We will also see the Surface Pro 4. It has been rumored to be slightly identical to the successful Surface Pro 3 but will be powered by the 6th gen. Intel Skylake processor.
TheVerge's Windows man Tom Warren added that this Surface Pro 4 will likely not come with a realsense camera but might have a fingerprint scanner on the keyboard? We will see.
After the success of the Microsoft Band fitness band, Microsoft said they never thought it would be a success. Well, now they know and they are going to launch the sequel. It will be interesting to see what they come up with, especially since there's a lot of pressure from avid fans of the Band 1.
October is going to be very interesting. So like they say in the GreenDay hit song... Wake me up when September ends!
