Microsoft just updated its native apps, specifically the Photos app, Camera and Outlook Mail got updated. These updates brought new features that you will love.
The Outlook Mail got updated with performance improvements and bug fixes but notably there are new features enabled... The live tiles now work as it now shows you e-mail sender and the subject of the email on the tile.
There are slight modifications to the mail app, the "respond" button sports a new icon.
There is also a new filter button at the top right that allows you to filter mail to show only "flagged" or "unread" mails.
The splash screen on the Mail app has also been updated.
Overall, it is now snappier that the previous version.
However, it is still cumbersome to switch between multiple email accounts, the print button is still missing and the Mail app crashes when trying to attach a photo.
So there is still more to expect from upcoming updates.
The Photos app got updated with performance improvements as well as bug fixes but like the Mail app, we got a few needed feature additions as well.
The live tile now works and there is a new animation sequence when it switches between displaying pics on the tile. it is really cool.
Then a refresh button has been added (in the app), this allows you to sync/refresh the photos from both your phone and from OneDrive to show up faster.
But my best feature added in this update would have to be the ability to filter your collections to see photos from any specified month and year.
The Camera app was also updated but I do not see any significant changes. Be sure to let us know if you notice anything different. I use a Lumia 830 and recording in 120fps is still not an option.
Finally, the MSN apps (Money, Sports, News and Weather all got updates but those come too frequently that I haven't noticed anything changes there either.
