Windows Phone is much more secure than iOS and Android smartphones, this according to Kaspersky Founder and CEO, Eugene Kaspersky who says iPhone are the most susceptible devices to hackers, while with enough brute force Android devices are also vulnerable.
He states that Windows Phone is the most secure of the 3 platforms and Microsoft is making it even more secure with Windows 10 Mobile when it is released later this year.
Though this is very good news, there is a logical explanation. Windows Phone has a very small market share compared to iOS and Android, hence the lack of interest from hackers.
iOS and Android users perform online banking on their phones but when you compare that number with the number of Windows Phone users who do online banking, it is immediately clear that Windows Phone is less of a target for these hackers.
It is kind of like MAC and PC, here the situation is reversed. Since there aren't a lot of MAC users, hackers attack PCs as it's a bigger target.
The big take away from this story is that Microsoft is still beefing up security and we will see evidence of that when Windows 10 Mobile is released.
