It's Official: Windows 10 will launch on July 29th

Microsoft today announced that Windows 10 will launch on July 29th.

If you own a Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 PC/Tablet/Laptop, you will be able to upgrade to the Windows 10 for free. In fact, Microsoft has started sending out notifications to Windows 7/8/8.1 owners to reserve their free copies of Windows 10.

So starting July 29th, you will be able to get the free upgrade and also buy new PCs with Windows 10 pre-installed on them.
Windows 10 comes with a whole lot of new feature and here they are highlighted in this video released by Microsoft today.

Joe Belfiore, also made a video showcasing and highlighting some of the main features of Windows 10. From Cortana on your desktop to Xbox on Windows to the new universal apps.
Microsoft is definitely doing something new yet familiar and the over 1 billion current Windows PC users will be happy to see what Windows 10 brings to the table, while giving them the familiar feel we are all used to.

Microsoft's Windows 10 OS was built based on feedback provided by over 4 million Windows Insider users. If you are a Windows Insider, then you are probably running the beta builds of Windows 10, it is currently on build 10130 and Microsoft is still sending out updates, mainly to polish the OS as we get nearer to launch.
Windows Insiders will get the final build on July 29th via an update as well.
