Microsoft released Build 10136 for Windows 10 Mobile last week.
This build came with a lot, I mean a lot of improvements, performance enhancements, new features and stability fixes.
When compared to the previous build 10080, the difference is as clear as night and day.
I'm not saying that this build isn't without its issues/bugs, but it is very useable. In fact, I have been running it on my Lumia 830 for the past week now as my daily driver.
So I guess you know what that means... It's time for an in depth review! Let's go!
In this latest build from Microsoft, I believe, they focused more on making it more useable. There isn't a wealth of changes or new features per se. The significant changes comes in performance. This is a huge step forward from the previous build 10080.
With this build comes the expansion of Dark themes as the Store Beta. Project Spartan Browser among other native apps now support the Dark theme and it is gorgeous.
Also landscape mode with split-view is a nice change in UX, you can see it in action when you go to either the Settings or use Outlook Mail in landscape.
The Phone app, People Hub have also been updated, they are more fluid and functional now. As Facebook, Twitter are now integrated into the People Hub.
The Photos app also got updated, so did OneDrive and the Movies&TV apps as well as the Music app. All of these native apps are much better now.
The Maps app got a 3D cities section if you want to explore new cities in 3D.
Cortana has been greatly improved on, the new universal design layout implemented here with hamburger menu and new features like tracking your parcel for delivery and so on.
There is also a new transparent PIN keypad on the Lockscreen. Though this is quite buggy right now.
There are a bunch of new improvements and subtle changes made to the Windows 10 Mobile build form previous builds but all in all. It is a step in the right direction.
Furthermore, there are already rumors that the next build will be released next week!
In the meantime, check out my in depth review of the 10136 build or you can try it out for yourself!
