Nokia has just announced the 2nd Gen. Nokia X, the Nokia X2.
It features a 4.3inch WVGA LCD screen with ClearBlack display (readability under sunlight)
A Qualcomm SnapDragon 200 processor with 1.2GHz Dual Core CPUs
5MP camera with single LED Flash an auto-focus, and there is a front-facing camera.
4GB internal storage (eMMC) with support for 32GB SD card
Dual SIM support.
All this for a retail price of under €100, that is really impressive.
Especially since we only saw the Nokia X released just 4 months ago.
At that price point, the Nokia X2 will compete and most likely destroy any low budget smartphones in the market right now, especially the Moto E and Moto G.
Nokia/Microsoft looks set to win the low end smartphone market with this one.
Here is a quick demo of the phone...
The UI as you already noticed is eerily similar to the Windows Phone UI, Nokia found a way to mash up Android and Windows Phone, the bountiful library of the Android store with the metro UI design from Microsoft.
Though, I am sure a lot of Windows Phone users would love to see some of the unique Nokia X2 UI designs ported to Windows Phone, like say the fast-lane?
Either way, this phone is set for the low end market where it will no doubt dominate, but where does that leave Microsoft and its WP platform remains to be seen... Though it will be interesting to see how it does against the newly released WP8.1 Dual SIM Lumia 630
