It is July 26th and I got the Nokia Lumia 1020, the full package! Containing the Camera grip and wireless charging shell.
If I was excited throughout the days leading up to this day, then I was quadruple that after I finally had one in my hands and ridiculously impressed with it after unboxing!
I'm usually stone cold/emotionless when shooting videos, so pardon me if you don't hear the excitement in my voice, hehe! But yea, it's 3am here right now and I am still tinkering with the device. FYI, an at&t commercial of the Lumia 1020 just came on TV and boy did it suck, unlike the Lumia 1020 though..
Ok check it out... The All-in-One Unboxing Video for the Lumia 1020 and it's accessories...
The Lumia 1020 is now available for $299 for a 2yr contract on At&t Network and $659 as its off-contract price. Sounds expensive, that's what I had been saying but after unboxing this device and handling it, it is well worth it. I compare the device with its predecessor and also the HTC One and it is above the league of the 920 and on par with the HTC One.
The Matte finish is unlike anything I have ever felt, This isn't the matte finish you are used too from the Lumia 920, it is refined and feels soo good holding it. This is in fact the best feature hardware wise.. after the 41MP camera of course.
The Camera Grip comes with lanyard, even though the phone itself also comes with one, so keep in mind that you will get an extra lanyard when you buy this accessory. The lanyard in itself isn't just another piece of rope. It's quality, with suede on the inside (obviously for friction) and leather on the outside for a classy look.
The lanyard is needed, because if you are like me and have been using a Lumia 920, the difference is clear, the Lumia 1020 is so light you might not notice you are holding it, so strap on the lanyard and secure your phone.
The wireless charging shell is the simplest yet most effective accessory for me, it gives your Lumia 1020 an added feature: Wireless charging. and it doesn't add weight to the device nor does it make it look bulky, even with the wireless shell the Lumia 1020 is still lighter than the Lumia 920.
My younger sister's wedding's coming up, I can't wait to shoot some high definition videos with this bad boy.
My full review of the device should be ready in a couple of days, but be sure to follow me on twitter @nok4us as I tweet about my experience with the device, and also try to answer your questions about using the phone, sorry I meant camera.
