It was already buzzing with Windows Phone enthusiasts and the Press.
The Event started an hour later with Windows Phone VP Joe Belfiore who presented the new features.
That's a nice streamed down video of all the new Windows Phone 8 features.
The feature that really caught my attention is the Live Lock screen, where you can see live updates right from your lock screen, whether it's weather updates, sports scores or live news.
Another exciting news is the arrival of top Android and iPhone games and apps to the platform, these apps/games are Temple Run, Jetpack Joyride, Angry Birds Star Wars, Angry Birds Space, Draw Something, Words with Friends, Urban Spoon, Fairway Solitaire,Asphalt 7: Heat, Living Social, Cut the Rope, and Disney’s Where’s My Water and Where’s My Perry.
Pandora is also coming to Windows Phone early 2013 and it's Ad-Free for a year.
Also, Skype's full integration into the OS was applauded, this time the app does run in the background and is integrated into your contacts too.
All in all, thanks to the rumors, leaked SDKs, images, nothing was left to the imagination, most of the features that were announced today were already out. But still, the new WP8 platform, is a huge step forward.
Joe Belfiore also demoed the Kid's corner feature by bringing his kids on stage to show how the Kid's corner feature gives you peace of mind, knowing that your phone is safe.
Perhaps, the highlight of the day was when Jessica Alba appeared to show why the Kid's corner (a feature on WP8 that gives your kids their own section of your WP phone) is very important and how she couldn't live without it, also when Joe asked her what features she loved about her WP8 phone, she said she absolutely loves the camera (she is using a Lumia 920)
