He was quite optimistic about it being released in Q4 2011 (this month), i had other ideas, i always knew there's no way Nokia would jeopardize its Windows Phone Launch by releasing a revamped symbian o/s a few weeks before it announces its Lumia series. that would just steal their "rolling thunder"
Its obvious Nokia target in the US market is to get current nokia users (you and me) to switch to their WP7 phones, then current non-nokia wp7 users and then there's the new user.
Nokia officially announced (for the umpteenth time) via Nokia conversations that symbian belle will be released in february.
this new update belle is already available on belle devices nokia 701 700 603 and will ship with newly manufactured nokia N8 E7 C7...
You see, releasing Belle in February will give existing nokia users enough time to choose between then released Lumia phones (will be announced in Jan) and the new symbian belle UI.
Nokia has made it clear pushing their WP7 phones is top priority, they have already showed this by cancelling shipment of symbian devices to countries where Lumia sales is their top on the agenda(US, UK..).
How much of an impact this further delay in belle roll-out will bring to their Lumia sales? i say it all depends on what nokia brings to the table between now and february.
